Finally with three days to go it’s time to put the Finally with three days to go it’s time to put the hooks down (and I’ve used eight different hooks)!!!!

The alpaca wedding dress is FINISHED!!! 😅

It’s hard to count the hours it has taken but somewhere between 600-800 hours.

I’ve used 22 balls of yarn at 50g each so 1.1kg and a total of 9,614 yards which is 5.46 miles!!!!!

I’m not an expert at crocheting, I’ve made a few blankets and some toy alpacas and donkeys since I learnt just before lockdown so it was definitely a challenge - especially as I didn’t have a pattern - it’s not perfect but it’s mine and I’ll wear it with pride on our big day on Saturday 😉🥰

Oh and for those of you who may be a bit worried that’s it’s made with ‘wool’ and its midsummer, don’t panic as alpaca fleece is thermoregulating so the fibre adapts to your body temperature, keeping you warm in the cold while dispersing excess humidity to keep you cool in the heat. Oh and if it does decide to rain it also repels water 😉🤣😊🥰

A HUGE thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement (especially when I was on the verge of giving up and buying a dress) and for believing in the craziness 💙🩷💚💜

Today’s before and after is our gorgeous Leonardo, Today’s before and after is our gorgeous Leonardo, look at his tail … a raised tail can either mean submission or a warning … it’s all about context… this is a sign of submission as his ears aren’t flattened and he hasn’t raised his chin, he’s showing us that he’s not a threat. So much communication is non verbal - as with most animals (including ourselves)! 🥰😉😊
